Program Overview
Teaching Mindfulness with Plant Textures, Scents, Colors, and Edible Gardens is an immersive program that merges mindfulness practices with a sensory exploration of gardens and food sustainability. Participants will learn to cultivate healing and nourishing spaces while discovering how different plant elements can enhance well-being and self-sufficiency. The program includes hands-on activities, guided mindfulness exercises, and interactive reflections.
Program Objectives
Participants will:
- Engage in a Hands-on Sensory Garden Activity – Create a multi-sensory garden using plants selected for their textures, scents, and flavors.
- Practice Guided Mindfulness Exercises – Utilize deep breathing and grounding techniques with aromatic plants like lavender, mint, and basil.
- Explore Food Sovereignty – Understand the importance of growing one’s own food for personal empowerment and community well-being.
- Reflect through an Interactive Journal – Document sensory experiences and insights related to mindfulness and gardening.
Logistics & Materials
All materials are included, such as a selection of culinary and medicinal plants (e.g., mint, lavender, rosemary), soil, pots, a reflection journal, and a bonus guide for expanding edible gardens. The venue should accommodate outdoor or indoor gardening activities.
